With just a few days to go before Sharon’s first anniversary, today felt like a real landmark in all that has passed in the last year. Personally, I felt extremely honoured to have been present at today’s meeting between the Rice Family and the Irish Cancer Society and to have witnessed the handing over of our second cheque. To think that in the last twelve months we have mobilized everyones grief for Sharon and turned it into something really positive in raising both an increased awareness of Melanoma and over €50,000 in funds.

After the initial burst of activity in fund-raising events, I’m delighted to see that things are in no way slacking off. Our Melanoma Trust is really getting the bit between it’s teeth and looks to be more aggressively pushing the awareness campaign for 2009.

I know Sharon is looking down on us all and must be so proud of everything that has been done in her name.

Great to see what we’ve achieved in a year.
