Fundraising and Awareness 2010

It’s May already, Skin Cancer Awareness month again and we’ve been busy organizing and participating in all our fundraising and awareness events.

Thanks to all who have given their time supporting our cause so far this year. It means so much to be able to expand our team of supporters in the effort of promoting awareness of skin cancer and melanoma.

Some of the things we have been involved in this year include; being part of the launch of the new Irish Cancer Society’s Skin Cancer Awareness leaflet, launch of La Roche Posay Melanoma Awareness Month along with Minister Mary Hearney, Coast to Coast walking Challenge, Barcelona Marathon, National Paper articles, Ireland AM TV3 appearances, The 32 County Mountain Top Challenge(year long) and National Beauty Magazine articles…

And here’s a list of events that have yet to take place and that we are inviting people to join us on; The 32 County Mountain Top Challenge, Womens Mini Marathon, Themed Golf Fundraiser, Dublin City Marathon and many more events on the calender.

During the month of May, Melanoma Awareness Month, Eccles Private Clinic in association with the Mater Private Hospital and Consultant Dermatologist Dr. Patrick Ormond are offering free diagnostic and surgical support for people who do not have health insurance. It’s a positive step and in time, hopefully this will be offered to everyone.

We invite everyone to help fundraise in their own way, by holding tea/coffee mornings, to super market bag packing, to participating in fun runs etc. We will encourage and support all people interested.. Just get in touch and we can send you the info..

Again, thanks to all our supporters and friends of the Melanoma Trust, all your hard work is making a difference.. :-)
